MIKAEL BACKLUND ON LOSS TO WINNIPEG:

ON BEING READY FOR THE PLAYOFFS:

"Just the experience. I think a lot of us were here and it really hurt a few years ago. We want to show better than that and a lot of guys have won it once or twice, know what it's like and want to do it again. Overall, a more experienced group. I feel like we have a really good shot here and we want to take advantage of it."

ON EXCITEMENT FOR NEXT WEEK:

"We'll see on the plane and waking up tomorrow. I think tomorrow, going to practice is going to be a lot of energy, a lot of buzz. Maybe tomorrow or the next practice, I don't know, get that playoff gear and all that. Just turn the page and move forward and focus on the playoffs. ... I think waking up tomorrow is going to be a lot of excitement and really looking forward to Game 1."

CHRIS TANEV ON FINISHING THE SEASON STRONG:

"Season's done, obviously. Eighty-two games. Now, the next season begins and (it's) super exciting to get back to work tomorrow and get excited for what's going to happen here."
"Obviously, we try to play as hard as we can every game and every shift. Tonight, I wasn't very good and we weren't very good, especially in the second. But the last number of games, we've pushed hard and worked hard and competed very hard to get to where we are in the standings."

ON TIGHT-KNIT LOCKER-ROOM:

"I think we have such a close group of guys - a lot of guys with experience and a lot of guys who've won; a mixture of young guys, older guys, and we just like being around each other every day, working hard and competing hard for the guy next to you.
"It's going to be fun."

DARRYL SUTTER ON HOW IT PLAYED OUT:

"I thought we had a really good first period. Think that our second period, our goalie made some saves. You know what? They're playing a free, easy game and in the third we showed what we're capable of doing, just couldn't score."
