JACOB MARKSTROM ON PERFECT ROAD TRIP:

ON HIS PRETTY PADDLE SAVE ON O'CONNOR:

"I think the first shot from the top, the other guy screening, so I was just working to try and track that first shot. Got a little aggressive because I kind of lost it and wanted to make the net a little smaller, but played it a little (too) aggressive. It hit my pad, then his skate, and then it's just desperation. Just want to get something covering the ice, at least, because it's tough for those guys in front of the net when they turn and shoot - it's usually on the ice, so just want to cover the ice and it was pure luck. (But) I'll take it, though."

"It was a big win - something to build on"

JOHNNY GAUDREAU ON SECURING THE GOOSE-EGG:

"That was important. (Markstrom) saved our bacon one too many times. Not only in this game, but throughout the entire road trip. What's that, two shutouts on the road trip? Obviously, one of the best goalies I've ever played with, so it's great to see him doing well back there. He faced a lot of shots tonight. But he stuck with it, faced on a 5-on-3, made some big saves, again - just played really well."

ON MARKSTROM'S HUGE STOP:

"I didn't (see it initially), but I saw the replay during the intermission. I didn't realize he made that save. That's insane. I think he might have had two of those road trip. It's coming every day for Marky. Just a crazy, incredible save. Like I said, he saved our bacon one too many times this road trip."

ON SCORING HIS FIRST OF THE YEAR:

"It was nice to find one. It's been a while. Had a little breakaway there and shot high glove. Had a couple opportunities tonight to score a couple more times, but we won - and that's most important."

ON BONDING ON THE ROAD:

"It's huge. I think the guys were really excited to get on a road trip, come to the States, play … on the east coast. We had a couple team dinners, just trying to come together as a team. Road trips sometimes bring your team together. Since I've been in the organization, it's been a while since we've had a start like this. Just really proud of the guys. Now, we're at home for 10, 11, 12 days, try to use that to our advantage and try to string along a few more wins."

Coach on impressive victory to round out trip

DARRYL SUTTER ON TEAM'S DEPTH ON DEFENCE:

"I said in the summer when you guys were picking the teams and all that stuff - I said that we needed eight or nine defencemen. We've played seven games and used eight. Good on us."
