"Obviously, it's easy to get caught up in looking too far ahead in the future and all that type of stuff, but I think that's one strong point that Darryl does on a day-to-day basis. He makes whatever the day is - like today - he makes that the most important day of the season and to stay in the here and now.
"He harps on us all day - whether it's a game day or practice day - to be at our best and get better on that day. He puts a lot of pressure or onus on the leadership group to look at it that way as well. I think I can echo what (Mikael Backlund) said (Friday), in the sense that it is fun coming to the rink, it is fun playing the right way, it is fun walking to the rink expecting to win - wanting to win - and going out there and playing for each other.
"Sometimes it's nice having a break and getting away from each other, so when you get back together, you light that fire again."
