2-1

Nazem Kadri on his tying goal and the win:

"That’s what you want to do, you want to come up big for your team. Big shootout winner as well. It wasn’t pretty at times today, but we found a way, and that says a lot."

On Justin Kirkland's last 10 days:

"It’s inspiring. I really had no idea of his story when he came up here, kinda learned more about him becoming my teammate, and obviously scoring his first goal. It’s always a guy you’re rooting for, he’s a teammate, so I’m happy for him."

On Dustin Wolf's presence in goal:

"I don’t think Wolfie has any shortage of confidence. That speaks volumes, when you want to become an NHL veteran to have that confidence. He made some incredible saves today and gave us a chance."

"It wasn’t pretty at times today, but we found a way"

Justin Kirkland on the victory over the Penguins:

"It’s a special night, obviously to get the win, was a great comeback win and shows the character of our group. That was an awesome way to cap it off, and credit to Dustin Wolf as well, he stood on his head in there."

On whether he was surprised to get the call in the shootout:

"Yeah, I was a little bit. I’ve played for them before, but there’s some serious high-end skill in this room. I wasn’t expecting it. I’ve had that move for a while, it’s worked before. It was the most nervous I’ve ever been. Just unbelievable."

"A great comeback win"

Dustin Wolf on stopping Crosby and Malkin in the shootout:

"It’s pretty cool. You know what, those are two guys that have had heck of careers and are still going at it. At the end of the day, we’re trying to get wins and that’s what we accomplished tonight."

On facing two future Hall-of-Famers in the shootout:

"I pride myself on shootout pre-scouts pregame, so I had somewhat of an idea of what they wanted to do. They didn’t do what I thought they would do. I got a little love from my post there, gave it a little kiss after, and when you get a chance to close it, and do that, it feels good."

On Justin Kirkland's shootout winner:

"It’s awesome. I got to play with him my first pro year in Stockton. As soon as I (saw) he was going for the shootout, I knew we were going to win. He’s Mr. Automatic when it comes to shootouts, and I don’t think I’ve seen him missed yet, knock on wood, let’s keep it that way. It’s pretty awesome to see what he’s doing."

"We’re trying to get wins"

Ryan Huska on choosing Justin Kirkland in the shootout:

"I guess if you look at the American League stuff, he scores all the time. I was kinda kicking myself for not going to him earlier, to be quite honest. Guys that have played with him in the American League know he’s pretty much automatic, so it was nice to see him score there tonight."

On Kirkland's story:

"He’s a good person that has worked a long time to try and get himself here, and now he’s having some success, so it’s a really nice story for us to be a part of."

On Dustin Wolf's performance in goal:

"I thought he did a good job tonight. There were stretches of the game where I thought we were on our heels, a little bit flat-footed. He made some saves to keep us in the game, to allow us to hang around. When you look at our record, you have to look at our goaltenders as being a big reason to why we’re sitting where we are."

"He's a good person that's worked a long time"
