DEREK RYAN ON BOUNCING BACK TONIGHT:

ON GROWING THROUGH ADVERSITY:

"I think it starts with everybody's reactions on the bench. Whether a bad thing happens, we get scored on, whatever it is, we can't react in a way that we're feeling down, everyone's legs are between their legs on the bench and you're not upbeat. The opposite reaction is there is guys are standing up, talking, saying, 'We're alright here,' and working our way, together, through whatever adversity we're facing in the moment. Obviously, I think that falls on every guy on the bench, to kind of pull guys into the fight and pull guys through the adversity that we're facing.
"Adversity is tough, but I think people and teams can also grow together through those moments as you fight through whatever it is - a bad call, a bad goal, a bad break - you can grow in those moments as you realize you can fight through it, you can continue to play the same way, you stay in your structure, and you don't try to score five goals. … That's a team-building moment, when you're able to build together and stick together through those harder times."

"They're a fresh team, they've had a break"

DARRYL SUTTER ON FACING THE CANUCKS:

"Veteran defence with a dynamic young star back there in (Quinn) Hughes. They're getting really good goaltending out of Thatcher Demko, who's been hot. They're a fresh team, they've had a break. They play with a lot of energy, play a direct game. They're a fun team to watch, but not when I'm coaching against them."

ON CHRIS TANEV:

"He's a game-time decision. He practiced this morning, so just see how it goes once he gets off the ice."

NOAH HANIFIN ON TANEV:

"He's a beast. Like I've said all year long, he's just been such a great addition to this locker-room. Just what he brings, not only on the ice but off the ice - his will, his compete. He's just an absolute warrior and he's a guy that you want on your team."

"Everyone has to play better"

ON THE ROAD AHEAD:

"Everyone has to play better and rise to the challenge. We do have a challenge in the schedule ahead of us and have to make up some ground, obviously, but it's important for everyone to look themselves in the mirror and do whatever they can to help this team win."
