MATTHEW TKACHUK ON MANGIAPANE'S GREAT NIGHT:

ON HOW THE GAME PLAYED OUT:

"Felt a little run-and-gunny at the start, but we had a lot of chances - more than them. We got off to an early lead and didn't really look back. ... In the third, we were playing for Marky there, who also did a great job when he was tested. He was tested a lot more than we would have liked tonight, because he gave up more chances than we would have liked. But all in all, solid road game. Anytime you're up 5-0 after two, it means you're in a good spot for the third and - not coast, by any means - but play smart, short shifts, and make sure everything gets out."

ON NEXT GAME IN NEW UBS ARENA:

"We know we're going into a really tough environment ... to the Island to play these guys, and seems like forever, and they're notorious for being one of the best and stingiest home teams in the league. We've got a big test, but it's good for us to see the scoresheet now and hopefully that carries over into Saturday, which is going to be one if not the hardest road games of the year so far."

"...he's one of the best in the NHL."

ANDREW MANGIAPANE ON THE VICTORY:

"I think we were playing a good, solid game. We wanted to come out strong, fast, and kind of set the tempo, score the first goal and go from there. I think we're a good hockey team when all four lines are going and everyone's chipping in and that's we did tonight."

ON TRYING FOR THE HAT-TRICK:

"They were doing a good job trying to find me there (laughs). Just couldn't buy another one."

ON 'SNOWBALL EFFECT' OF PRODUCING OFFENCE:

"Confidence is big, right? When you're scoring goals, making plays - whether it's a good PK or whatever it is… When you're doing that well, you gain confidence, so when you're in a closer match and you're going into the third tied, it's good confidence to know that you can do it. Playing with confidence in this league is an important thing."

ON MARKSTROM'S LEAGUE-LEADING FIFTH SHUTOUT:

"Our goalies are solid and tonight, Marky was good. A couple good saves for us and that's who he is, right? He's a top goalie in this league and both goalies have been really good for us. We're going to keep using them down the stretch here."

"They were doing a good job trying to find me"

DARRYL SUTTER ON JOHNNY GAUDREAU'S TWO GOALS:

"Johnny lit it up tonight. Lots of speed. What did he have, 10 shots last game? He was 1-for-1 tonight there at the start. He's got that jump in his game again."

"Johnny lit it up tonight"

ON MARKSTROM'S YEAR SO FAR:

"He's one of our leaders, our core guys. It's not always easy to do from that position - guys are sort of on their own island a little bit - but he brings a lot to the locker-room."
