MARK GIORDANO ON BUILDING OFF SATURDAY:

ON CHASING THE HABS, WHO ARE IN COVID PROTOCOL:

"We're worried, obviously, about ourselves here and the one thing i'll say is, there are a lot of head-to-head games this year. In no other season are you going to play a team you're chasing five times down the strech. That's important. We can't worry about what they're going to do, what they're not going to do. We've just got to take care of business and when we get those head-to-heads, those are obviously really important games."

ON BRINK OF 500 CAREER POINTS:

"Every time you reach one of those milestones or accomplishments, it's pretty cool. But for me, at this stage in my career, it's more obviously about trying to win and doing watever it takes to do that."

"We did a lot of things we wanted to accomplish"

ON SCORING THE FIRST GOAL:

"You always want to get that lead, but I think that with the way the game is played now, when you do get the first goal, you're in a way better position, but you have to continue to play aggressive and still make plays, still try and score the next one. It's changed so much, and one, two-goal leads can evaporate pretty quickly. But you try and play the same way.
"Obviously, a lot of coaches will put emphasis on scoring the first goal. I don't know what the numbers are, but I bet you the team that scores first has a better record most of the time. But for us, if you don't score first, that's where we're more focused on staying the course and playing the same way when you don't score first - whereas, in the past, we would sort of, I think we had a little bit of a 'we've got to score on the next shift'-mentality and it cost us the other way."

DARRYL SUTTER ON PLAYOFF RACE:

"You can only get two points if you win, you get one for an overtime loss and you get none for a loss. We really can't do much about what Montreal is doing, or their schedule, or how somebody else might look at it. We can only control how we control the game that we play next. We'll do our best to play hard, which we do and will, and we'll work hard and try and play with more structure and play together, and maybe we'll have an opportunity to beat a team as strong as Winnipeg tonight."
