MICHAEL STONE ON HIS YEAR SO FAR:

ON HIS OPPORTUNITY NOW:

"I know I'm capable of playing. I say this every time I talk to you guys because we have the same conversation between most of the games I play. I'm not trying to do anything spectacular out there. I'm just trying to play the way I know I can play and help the team in any way I can.
"I like being part of a good hockey team and I think we have a really good hockey team. If I can contribute any way I can, that's what I'm going to do. And if contributing is being the guy who's called upon when needed, that's what I'm going to do. If I'm the guy who's going to play every night, then that's what I'm going to be. I'm good."

ON YOUNGER PLAYERS PUSHING FOR ICE TIME:

"I was one of those guys once before. I had some really good, older players when I first came. Derek Morris, Adrian Aucoin, Michal Rozsival. Just good people. They talked to you and tried to help you. So, that's what I try to do. I'm going to keep fighting to play and think I can still play - I know I can still play - but I have to keep doing what I'm doing in order to be that guy."

"When I'm called upon, I have to be ready"

TYLER TOFFOLI ON RETURNING TO L.A.:

"Obviously, some really good memories. A lot of fun. I think I played 500 games or whatever it was here, so definitely some good memories, but at the same time, I haven't beat them yet, and that's definitely something on the list here."

ON EXPERIENCE AS A KING:

"Obviously, I came here and was just a little kid. Now, I'm turning 30 in a few weeks here. Definitely learned a lot. Played with some amazing players, amazing people and still friends with them to this day. Coming here was definitely a learning experience and things that I'll remember and take with me for the rest of my life."

ON PLAYOFF LESSONS:

Toffoli won the Cup in his first year as a King, and lost it last year with the Montreal Canadiens
"It's two completely different things, right? Winning was such a surreal experience. It was my first year in the league and didn't really know necessarily what happened almost. Last year, losing in the Final, was definitely a weird experience going into the summer not really realizing that I just lost and made it all the way. Definitely want to go on another run and finish strong this time."

"Obviously, some good memories here"

DARRYL SUTTER ON THE LAST FEW GAMES:

"You know what, it's a little bit of puck luck. It's what I said, it doesn't change all of a sudden. It's still a race to play in the Top 3. Because if you don't - and I've said it lots - it doesn't change, it's still about our goals against, chances against, save percentage, all those things, right? If you look in the last two or three games, the chances against and the goals against are too high. Or, maybe the save percentage. Something like that. It's not going to change all of a sudden because somebody got hurt or anything like that. It still has to be very consistent with how you play, and the approach and the message, and then go play."

ON MINDSET OF THE TEAM RIGHT NOW:

"That's still part of that learning process, right? If you think you're the better team and then you lose, does that affect your next game? Or does that affect YOUR next game? That's the part of it. That carry-over group, maturing players are still learning how to deal with that.
"Yeah, we liked our games against Colorado and games like we liked those games. We liked the close games we've been in lately, but then play the whole game, right? Don't let it affect anything you do with the next game. It's still real broad with our team - it's a really broad picture and you try to keep them in the focus of trying to be a playoff team. We want to be a playoff team. That's the way you have to look at it. You can't let anything distract you from that. You can't let one game or two games, or whether it's a close game. You can't. You've just got to deal with it.
"We just want to deal with the week at hand. Because, the way the weeks have been set up post all-star, when you do it, you can break it out pretty good for your club."

"It's a race to play in the Top 3"

ON CONNOR MACKEY:

"With Connor, it's got nothin' to do with compete. It's got to do with maturity in playing the pro game. These kids, I strongly believe, were advanced too soon - and they've got to play. They've got to play. And not just play - they can't come here with a lot to learn. They have to be in the style of play, meaning system-wise, and they have to be conditioned and I've said that before, (Heat Head Coach) Mitch Love has done an awesome job with that, with guys. This organization, we have to do that now and going forward."
