MATTHEW TKACHUK ON FACING THE DUCKS:

ON THE STRETCH DRIVE:

"We haven't played our best the last few weeks, so going on the road was probably the best thing our team needed, being at home for the last two months. Coming here, having a lot of time together and playing very desperate teams with lot of young talent - and playing a team like LA that is right behind us in the standings. Now, you look at it - Vegas is coming, Edmonton's right behind us. It's really tight; we have to keep winning to keep separating ourselves from these teams and not let them catch up."

"We have to keep winning to separate ourselves"

TREVOR LEWIS ON BUILDING OFF MONDAY:

"Yeah, it was big. This time of the season, the games are getting tight, so we've got to be getting comfortable in those close, checking games and finding ways to come out on top. It was definitely a big win."

ON PLAYING HIS 800TH GAME TONIGHT:

"Whoever thought a kid from Utah would play 800? It's pretty cool to think about, but it's a pretty big game for us tonight, too, so you've got to get ready the same way."

"Whoever thought a kid from Utah would play 800?"

KIRK MULLER ON TONIGHT'S GAME:

"We're a focused group and we're well aware that this is a big road trip for us and I think starting that first shift, the game in LA, Johnny and Lindy's line set the tone for us. We know the importance of it. It's a tight race right now and usually what you do is focus on your team and yourselves and make sure you're playing good hockey no matter who you're playing against. We've got a good opponent here tonight that has played well against us this year, so we've got to be ready for this game."

ON TIGHT PLAYOFF RACE:

"I think it's great for us. We're riding in this race right now and it's really almost like you are in the playoffs, when you really think about it. From the fan point of view, the excitement from the fanbases and that, but you've got to dial in right now, as a player - individually - and be ready to go because competition's getting harder, there's less room on the ice, teams are checking harder and goaltenders are in top form right now. Everything that you see right now in the games, you've got to be ready to play and play hard."

"This is a big road trip for us"

ON RYAN GETZLAF:

The longtime Ducks captain announced Tuesday that he will retire at the end of the season
"I was fortunate to coach him over at the Worlds with Canada the one year. I think whenever you get the opportunity to coach a guy at that elite level, it's always fun for anyone. The biggest thing, he's won - he's a true winner. He's a captain, he's led this organization in a winning way, he's competitive. Everyone loves to have a big centreman and that's what he was over the course of his player, playing in key situations. He played hard, he played the right way, played physical, he put up points. Pretty impressive career that he's had and he has a lot of respect from his peers and everyone in the NHL for what he's done."

ON THE 'MICHIGAN' LACROSS-STYLE GOAL:

Ducks forward Trevor Zegras is the talk of the hockey world for his nifty stick skills
"Honestly, as an ex-player, I wouldn't have thought of doing it, let alone being ABLE to do it or even doing it in practice or out on the pond. The players today, the skill level is so high, honestly, they do things that a lot of us couldn't do or never thought of doing. The game has really evolved and there's a lot of skill out there with the players today."
