TKACHUK TO MISS GAME VS. OILERS

CALGARY -The Flames will be without Matthew Tkachuk for this evening's edition of The Battle Of Alberta.
The winger left Sunday's game with an injury and has not skated for the last two days. Head coach Glen Gulutzan confirmed Tkachuk would miss tonight's game and announced that his status is day-to-day.
"Obviously when you lose a guy like that, it hurts. Especially at this time of year," Gulutzan. "Those holes create opportunities for other guys to come. We've got lots of guys chomping at the bit to come in."
In Tkachuk's absence, Sam Bennett will move up to play on a line with Mikael Backlund and Michael Frolik.

"Even before I got here, (Backlund and Bennett) had played together," Gulutzan noted. "Just when we were putting lines together and Sam was playing center a year and a half ago ... Chucky just had such a good fit with Backs and Fro that we kept that line going. If Sam wasn't playing center at that time, he probably could have easily moved into that spot too.
"He's going to bump up there tonight. When I talked to Backs and Fro, they thought it was a good fit."
In addition to moving Bennett to the second line, Chris Stewart will draw back into the lineup after missing the last four games as a healthy scratch and Nicholas Shore may make his Flames debut this evening. Mark Jankowski spent extra time on the ice after the morning skate and Shore did not, signalling Shore could be centering the third line.
Gulutzan also announced Sean Monahan will be in the lineup this evening. He did not skate on Monday or this morning.
