Not bad, Wranglers.

Not bad.

Second in the league, top of the Pacific Division, andc with players in the top four across the league in points. Ya, they’re off to a strong start.

The Wranglers are a sparkling 7-1 this season, with Rory Kerins and Clark Bishop leading the Herd with their no-quit, play-hard mentality.

"I think we're doing a lot of things well that we've talked about," said Head Coach Trent Cull. "The group deserves a lot of credit, they've grasped the idea of how we want to play."

Down To The Wire

Clark Bishop has been quite the hero for the Wranglers twice in a row during their double-header against the Colorado Eagles.

In both games, the team trailed the Eagles 2-0 and 1-0, respectively, in the first periods while managing to tie it up or be one behind heading into the third.

In Friday's game, Bishop was able to pull off a shot in front of the net, throwing himself in the air to get around the traffic with 5:30 to play.

History repeated itself in Sunday's game when Bishop scored the game winning goal with 1:30 remaining, sending the puck to the back of the net from the slot.

Top Of The Class

Rory Kerins continues to keep racking up points for the Wranglers, sitting second in league scoring.

He has eight goals and 10 points.

The momentum does not seem to stop for the kid.

“I’m just the beneficiary of some good plays and being in the right spot," he said, crediting his teammates for his hot start.

One-timers

  • Jeremie Poirier played his 100th AHL game on Oct. 27

Quotables

Rory Kerins when asked what has been working for the team:

“We’re playing pretty direct, we’re just getting pucks on net, doing simple things the right way and it’s going for us.”

Coach Trent Cull shares how the team is building chemistry on the ice:

“We’ve talked a lot about being predictable for each other and if we are doing our jobs within that structure then it works and it’s great.”

Clark Bishop on the Wranglers persisting while playing through deficits:

"There's no quit and everyone wants to keep the streak going."
