Bill Daly

Chairman/Director

Bill Daly is an attorney and the current Deputy Commissioner of the National Hockey League. Bill oversees the NHL's relationships - including negotiating and administering necessary working agreements - with the NHL Alumni Association, American Hockey League, Canadian Hockey League, Hockey Canada, and USA Hockey. He was a former NHL vice president and chief legal officer. Before joining the NHL front office, he worked for the New York law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP. Bill received his bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College and his law degree from New York University School of Law. He has served on boards for the Sports Development Corporation of the City of New York, and the Sports Law and Antitrust Law Committees of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and is a board member of the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Kim Davis

President/Director

Kim Davis is the Senior Executive Vice President, Social Impact, Growth Initiatives & Legislative Affairs for the National Hockey League. Ms. Davis spent over 30 years in the financial services industry. She was the Managing director of Global Philanthropy and CSR, President of the JPMorgan Chase Foundation, and a member of JPMorgan Chase’s Executive Committee. Her responsibilities included: overseeing the firm’s approximately $218 million in annual giving; employee volunteerism; civic engagement; community relations; and strategic corporate marketing programs. Prior to joining the NHL executive leadership, Ms. Davis was Senior Managing Director and founder of Teneo Diversity and Inclusion. Ms. Davis earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from Spelman College in Atlanta. She completed ARC International’s Advanced Leadership Program and the Aspen Institute Executive Program.

Joseph DeSousa

Treasurer/Director

Joseph M. DeSousa joined the National Hockey League in July 1990 as Controller and named Executive Vice President of Finance in December 2005. Joseph's was a member of the negotiating executive team for collective bargaining agreements with both the NHL Players' Association and NHL On-ice Officials' Associations and helped further improve, the economic framework with the NHLPA, including the “player-payroll-cap” and “revenue sharing” systems, as well-developed Hockey Related Revenue principles, a cornerstone to the NHL-NHLPA partnership, allowing the League to experience unprecedented competitive balance and record revenue growth. Prior to working at the NHL, Joseph worked for Ernst & Young and served as Director of Finance for Clarke Transport. Joseph is a graduate of McGill University in the fields of public accountancy and management information systems. Mr. DeSousa is a graduate of McGill University in the fields of public accountancy and management information systems.

Jeff Scott

Secretary/Director

Jeff is a Sports Management Executive with over 18 years of experience leading community investment and youth sports development strategies and initiatives across the NBA and NHL. Currently, as Vice President of Community Development and Growth for the National Hockey League – the premier professional ice hockey league in the world – Jeff supports and creates the leagues mission and strategies which focuses on changing the global conversation about hockey, making it the acknowledged standard for sports experiences that are inclusive, accessible, enjoyable and community-friendly. Through continued efforts, Jeff also positively influences and impacts the philanthropic and community investment decisions of all 32 NHL Clubs, Minor Hockey affiliates and Youth Hockey organizations relating to culture, youth participation, social impact and sustainability. Jeff earned a B.A. in Sociology from Wofford College, where he was also a four-year letter winner and two-year team captain on the football team.

Corey Blay

Director

Corey is the Director of Manhattan Country School. Corey began his career in education nearly two decades years ago. He joined Fieldston as a history teacher, was later a founding member of Fieldston’s then new middle school and eventually took on the additional role of Diversity Coordinator. After leaving Fieldston, Corey developed a mentorship program at Teach for America designed to support and retain staff members of color and those from low-income backgrounds. He also earned an M.B.A. from NYU’s Stern School of Business and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. Before becoming Manhattan Country School’s third director, Corey served as program director of the NYU Leadership Initiative, where his accomplishments include generating support from major corporations to create a scholarship program at Stern for first-generation, low-income students.

Rachel Segal

Director

Rachel Segal began her career at the NHL as a sports and entertainment producer who specializes in large-scale event and creative content production. After graduating from the University of Michigan in 2012 with a B.A. in Communications, her professional career began at IMG Productions, where she rose in the ranks to become a Production Coordinator of the media giant’s production arm. While at IMG, Rachel worked on a variety of annual sports and entertainment productions. In 2016, she translated her NHL events experience into a full-time role at the NHL as the Senior Director of Events and Entertainment. She was promoted to Vice President, and she managed the entertainment production for up to 10 globally-televised events per NHL season. In addition to working on the NHL’s tentpole events, Rachel fueled her personal passions by developing new creative programming concepts and collaborating with NHL’s Social Impact, Growth Initiatives and Legislative Affairs (SGL) department to produce humanitarian and community-based initiatives. In 2023, Rachel joined the SGL team as Vice President, Social Impact & Strategic Integration, to help operationalize and strategize all the League’s SGL programming and initiatives. In addition, Rachel acts as “chief-of-staff" for the department’s Senior Executive Vice President Kimberly Davis and leads the NHL’s longest-standing philanthropic initiative, Hockey Fights Cancer. While she grew up just outside of Washington, D.C., Rachel currently resides in New York City, where she enjoys living out her “foodie” dreams in her free time (but her current residency status does not affect her diehard fandom of her beloved Washington Capitals)!

David Zimmerman

Director

David Zimmerman is Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and General Counsel of the National Hockey League.  In that role, Mr. Zimmerman is responsible for overseeing the League’s Legal Group and providing advice and counsel to Club and League personnel on a wide variety of matters, including collective bargaining with the NHL Players Association and the on-going administration and enforcement of the collective bargaining agreement, grievance arbitrations, corporate, financing, and commercial real estate transactions, labor and employment and litigation matters. He is also involved in a wide range of the League’s business and administrative matters, including as one of the League’s Compliance Officers, responsible for implementing the League's internal compliance plan.  Prior to joining the NHL, Mr. Zimmerman was an attorney with the law firm of Proskauer Rose. Mr. Zimmerman graduated from the State University of New York at Albany (B.A. in Accounting and Business Administration) in 1982 and from Boston University School of Law (J.D.) in 1986.
