Goaltender Jack LaFontaine has
signed a one-year American Hockey League contract with the Syracuse Crunch.
The 24-year-old joined the Canes mid-season from the University of Minnesota when Carolina was experiencing health issues at the position.

2 p.m.

Carolina has
re-signed forward Stelio Mattheos to a one-year contract
.
The 2017 third round pick has won two Calder Cups in two professional postseasons, coming with Charlotte and Chicago.

11 a.m.

Forward Nino Niederreiter has signed a two-year contract with the Nashville Predators.
The left-handed winger spent the last three and a half seasons with the Canes after being acquired from the Minnesota Wild during the 2018-19 season. He'd produced 20+ goals in back-to-back seasons, but will now join fellow native of Switzerland Roman Josi in the Music City.

Wednesday, July 20

3:45 p.m.

Goaltender Beck Warm has
signed with the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League
. Warm was signed to an NHL contract last March after a successful start to his time in Chicago (AHL), but spent the majority of the 2021-22 regular season with Norfolk (ECHL). In the two seasons he did not see any time with Carolina.

Friday, July 15

5:30 p.m.

The Canes announce that they've
agreed to terms with forwards Malte Strömwall.
Strömwall published 32 points in 38 KHL games last season with Dinamo Minsk.

6:45 p.m.

The #Canes have also
signed forward MacKenzie MacEachern to a one-year, two-way contract.
A left-handed winger, the 28-year-old has played in 115 contests over the last four seasons with the St. Louis Blues.

Thursday, July 14

11:00 a.m.

The Canes have
signed goaltender Zachary Sawchenko to a one-year contract
.
The 24-year-old played in seven games for the San Jose Sharks last year, as well as 14 for the San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League. He adds a complimentary piece to the existing group of Frederik Andersen, Antti Raanta and Pyotr Kochetkov.

2:36 p.m.

Forward Josh Leivo has
signed a one-year, one-way contract with the St. Louis Blues
.
He was named the American Hockey League's Playoff MVP as he paced all Chicago Wolves in scoring on their way to the Calder Cup win.

1:47 p.m.

Defenseman Ian Colehas
agreed to a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning
.
The 33-year-old dressed in 75 regular season games and 14 postseason contests for Carolina during his only season with the club.

2:03 p.m.

Defenseman Brendan Smith has
signed a two-year contract with the New Jersey Devils
.
The 33-year-old played in 45 games for Carolina during the 2021-22 regular season, his lone campaign with the organization.

2:47 p.m.

Forward Vincent Trocheckhas
signed a seven-year contract with the New York Rangers
.
The 29-year-old forward played in 135 games for Carolina after being acquired from the Florida Panthers at the 2020 Trade Deadline.

3:30 p.m.

The Canes have acquired defenseman Brent Burns and forward Lane Pederson from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for forward Steven Lorentz, goaltender Eetu Makineimi and a 2023 third round pick in the NHL Draft.
San Jose will also be retaining 34% of Burns' contract and cap hit.

4:16 p.m.

Defenseman Josh Jacobs and forward Spencer Smallman, two pieces to the Chicago Wolves' Calder Cup run, have
agreed to terms with the Stanley Cup Champions

4:31 p.m.

Forward Max Domi has inked a one-year deal with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Acquired at the 2022 Trade Deadline from Columbus, his three-point performance in Round One, Game Seven against Boston will be a memorable one in Raleigh for some time.

5:34 p.m.

Goaltender Alex Lyon has
signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Florida Panthers
.
The netminder played two games for the Canes during the 2021-22 regular season, one of which came against the Cats. He worked as the anchor in a cast of several netminders for the team's AHL affiliate in Chicago, guiding the team to a Calder Cup.

8:00 p.m.

The Canes have acquired forward Max Pacioretty and defenseman Dylan Coghlan
from the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for future considerations
.
In need of a scoring winger, Carolina found their answer by way of assisting Vegas with their salary cap needs. Over the course of the last eight seasons Pacioretty has produced 429 points in 531 games.
Additionally, the team also gets a 24-year-old, right-handed defenseman in Coghlan. The up-and-comer has played both of the last two seasons in the NHL after beginning his pro career with the Chicago Wolves.

8:26 p.m.

After a pair of substantial trades have highlighted the day so far, the Canes have finally made their first signing of the day. Forward Ondrej Kasecomes to the club on a one-year deal after producing 27 points in 50 games last year for Toronto.
