The Community Relations department strives to connect the Carolina Hurricanes with the surrounding community. Through numerous community and fundraising events, the Hurricanes are dedicated to improving the lives of area children and their families. Our commitment to the community is evident through the active participation of players, their families, coaches and our staff.

The Hurricanes support the community through a variety of initiatives. Over 1,000 in-kind donations and tickets are given to local non-profits annually, and throughout the year, hundreds of items are collected for organizations through the charity drive program. In addition, Hurricanes players support children, teachers and the military through various individual programs. The Hurricanes are also strongly committed to league-wide initiatives, such as Hockey Fights Cancer and Hockey is for Everyone. Through its community outreach, the Hurricanes organization has supported and impacted children and families, military service members, public safety personnel and others all across North Carolina.

Through the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation, the Hurricanes raise money to support educational and children's programs in the region. Each year the team gives back at least $1 million in cash and in-kind contributions to charitable and educational programs throughout the state. The Hurricanes expand their community involvement by donating tickets and signed memorabilia to help other organizations raise money for their own cause. The Hurricanes are proud to be an active member of the community.
