9:00 a.m. ET

Under 24 hours after being dealt to Tampa Bay for a 2025 third-round pick, Jake Guentzel signed a seven-year, $9M AAV contract with his new club.

Acquired from Pittsburgh at the trade deadline by Carolina, the now-rental produced 25 points in 17 regular season games and nine points in 11 postseason contests.

12:00 p.m. ET

Jaccob Slavin wasn't set to be a free agent until after the 2024-25 season, but the defenseman and the Canes didn't want to wait to lock up a long-term extension.

The 2012 draft pick signed an eight-year extension worth $51.69 million on Monday, keeping him in Raleigh through the end of the 2032-33 season.

1:40 p.m. ET

Forward Teuvo Teravainen has inked a three-year, $5.4M AAV contract with the Chicago Blackhawks.

"Turbo" was acquired from Chicago back in 2016 but now returns to the organization that drafted him after playing eight years and 555 games with the Canes.

2:10 p.m. ET

Carolina's first UFA signing of the day is 29-year-old forward Eric Robinson. The contract is for one year and $950k.

The former Princeton University Captain has played 306 NHL games over seven seasons and will play a depth role for Rod Brind'Amour's group in the fall.

“Eric is an experienced forward who will add speed and physicality to our lineup,” said Canes General Manager Eric Tulsky. “He has also shown that he can contribute offensively, and we are glad to have him in Carolina.”

2:20 p.m ET

Another former Sabres forward is joining Robinson in Raleigh, as Tyson Jost has agreed to a one-year deal worth $775k.

A first round pick in 2016 by Colorado, the 26-year-old has also played games for Minnesota.  Now, he'll look to prove himself in North Carolina.

“Tyson is a reliable forward who can play a variety of roles,” said Tulsky. “His versatility will help bolster our depth heading into next season.”

2:30 p.m. ET

Defenseman Brett Pesce is headed to the New Jersey Devils on a six-year deal.  The average annual value (AAV) is $5.5M.

It will be the first change in scenery for Carolina's former #22, who was drafted by the Canes in 2013.

Nine seasons and 627 games later, the Tarrytown, NY native heads a little closer to home.

3:00 p.m. ET

Revitalizing his career in Raleigh over the last three years, forward Stefan Noesen is headed back to New Jersey.

Signing a three-year deal with the Devils worth $2.75M AAV, the power forward played with the Devils from 2017-19.

3:50 p.m. ET

An important part of the team's culture, Jordan Martinook, is sticking around.

Rewarded with a three-year deal with an AAV of $3.05M, he has played 394 games over six season with the Canes.

4:30 p.m. ET

After Brett Pesce took his talents to New Jersey earlier today, the Canes had a sizable hole to fill on the right side of their blue line.

Enter Sean Walker.

The highly-coveted 29-year-old gets a five-year deal at $3.6 AAV, ensuring that the Carolina back end remains solid for years to come.

4:55 p.m. ET

Brady Skjei earned himself a healthy contract this offseason and he's found it on Broadway in Nashville.

Agreeing to a seven-year, $7M AAV contract with the Predators, Skjei was a goal-scoring machine on defense during his time with the Canes.

Since the start of the 2021-22 regular season, Cale Makar (66), Roman Josi (64), Rasmus Dahlin (48), Erik Karlsson (46) and Victor Hedman (42) are the only NHL defensemen who have scored more goals than Skjei (40).

7:30 p.m. ET

And just as Brady Skjei heads elsewhere, the Canes fill his left-handed shot on defense with a familiar face.

Shayne Gostisbehere makes a return to Tim Gleason's blue line, signing a three-year deal carrying a $3.2M AAV.

Gostisbehere was acquired by Carolina at the 2023 trade deadline, adding 10 points in 23 games.  Expected to quarterback a power play unit once again, "Ghost" is a smooth skater with exceptional passing abilities.
