RALEIGH, NC. - Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has acquired a sixth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for the draft rights to defenseman Cade Webber.
Webber, 23, has tallied six assists in 30 NCAA games with Boston University this season. The 6’7”, 216-pound defenseman has skated in 115 games over four seasons with the Terriers, posting 16 points (1g, 15a). The Meadville, Penn., native was selected by the Hurricanes in the fourth round, 99th overall, of the 2019 NHL Draft.
