As director of player personnel, Yorke will be involved in all player personnel decisions, oversee amateur scouting, and report directly to the general manager. A native of Milton, Ont., Yorke first joined the organization in 2009 as video scout. He most recently served as manager of scouting, assisting the management team with professional and amateur player evaluations, approving scouting schedules, and leading the annual scouting meetings. Yorke graduated with honors from Brock University in 2008 with a degree in sports management. Prior to joining the Hurricanes, he interned and worked for the Buffalo Sabres for two seasons. Yorke also spent one year with Canadian sports network TSN.
Entering his fifth season with the Hurricanes, Tulsky provides and analyzes data to assist the hockey operations department and coaching staff. The Philadelphia native began publishing his advanced hockey statistical analysis in 2011, for BroadstreetHockey.com, prior to launching his own website through SBNation, Outnumbered. Tulsky has been a featured panelist for MIT's annual Sports Analytics Conference and his hockey analysis work has also been published in The Washington Post and fivethirtyeight.com. He holds a B.A. in chemistry and physics from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in chemistry from UC-Berkeley. He also conducted a two-year, post-doctoral study at the Naval Research Lab in Washington, D.C., and worked in nanotechnology for 12 years.
