RALEIGH, NC - Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov and forward Jamieson Rees from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL). Forwards Jack Drury and Jordan Martinook have also been assigned to Chicago. Defenseman Jake Gardiner has been placed on long term injured reserve, and forward Max Pacioretty has been placed on the injured non-roster list.

The Hurricanes' roster now stands at 23 players and is listed below.
Kochetkov, 23, played his first three NHL games with Carolina last season, posting a 3-0-0 record, 2.42 goals-against average and .902 save percentage, and made four playoff appearances with the Hurricanes. The 6'3", 205-pound netminder also registered a 13-1-1 record, 2.09 goals-against average and .921 save percentage in 15 AHL regular-season games with Chicago in 2021-22 before going 5-1 in the playoffs to help lead the Wolves to a Calder Cup championship. The Penza, Russia, native was selected by the Hurricanes in the second round, 36th overall, of the 2019 NHL Draft.
Rees, 21, tallied 24 points (7g, 17a) in 61 AHL games with the Wolves in 2021-22 and added six points (2g, 4a) in 17 playoff games during their Calder Cup run. The 5'10", 182-pound forward has registered 38 points (15g, 23a) in 90 career AHL games with Chicago and recently served as the Hurricanes' captain for the 2022 Prospects Showcase in September. A native of Hamilton, Ont., Rees was drafted by Carolina in the second round, 44th overall, of the 2019 NHL Draft.
Drury, 22, skated in his first two NHL games with the Hurricanes last season and scored a goal in both contests, becoming the fifth player to accomplish the feat in franchise history. The 5'11", 174-pound forward spent most of the season with Chicago, recording 52 points (20g, 32a) in 68 games during the regular season and adding 24 points (9g, 15a) in 18 playoff games as the Wolves won the Calder Cup. The New York, N.Y., native was selected by Carolina in the second round, 42nd overall, of the 2018 NHL Draft.
Martinook, 30, registered 15 points (6g, 9a) in 59 NHL games with Carolina last season. The 6'1", 204-pound forward has tallied 66 points (27g, 39a) in 230 games with the Hurricanes since being acquired from the Coyotes on May 3, 2018. Martinook has earned 131 points (53g, 78a) in 477 career NHL games with Arizona and Carolina. The Brandon, Man., native was drafted by the Coyotes in the second round, 58th overall, of the 2012 NHL Draft.
Gardiner, 32, earned 32 points (4g, 28a) in 94 NHL games during his first two seasons with Carolina, but due to hip and back injuries, he has not played an NHL game since May 19, 2021. The 6'2", 195-pound defenseman has recorded 277 points (49g, 228a) in 645 career NHL games with Toronto and Carolina. A native of Minnetonka, Minn., Gardiner was selected by Anaheim in the first round, 17th overall, of the 2008 NHL Draft.
Pacioretty, 33, underwent surgery to repair a torn achilles in August. Acquired along with defenseman Dylan Coghlan from Vegas in exchange for future considerations on July 13, he tallied 37 points (19g, 18a) in 39 NHL games with the Golden Knights in 2021-22. The 6'2", 217-pound forward has recorded 642 points (323g, 319a) in 850 career NHL games with Montreal and Vegas. The New Canaan, Conn., native was drafted by the Canadiens in the first round, 22nd overall, of the 2007 NHL Draft.
