Carolina and New York will meet in the playoffs for the second time, and the first time in a best-of-seven series. The two teams previously met in the 2020 Eastern Conference Qualifying Round, as the Hurricanes earned a three-game sweep of the Rangers at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Carolina posted a 3-1-0 record against New York during the 2021-22 regular season.
The Hurricanes will play Game 1 of the Second Round on home ice at PNC Arena on Wednesday, May 18, at 7 p.m. Carolina owns a 33-20 all-time postseason record at PNC Arena, including four wins over Boston in the First Round, and the team has won nine of its last 10 playoff series starting on home ice dating back to 2002.
