RALEIGH, NC. -Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has activated forward Ryan Suzuki and assigned him to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL). Suzuki missed all of training camp due to an upper-body injury and was placed on the injured non-roster list at the start of the season.

Suzuki, 21, tallied 14 points (7g, 7a) in 34 AHL games with Chicago last season, scoring the first shorthanded goal of his AHL career and pacing the team in shooting percentage (19.4%). The 6'1", 196-pound forward has registered 24 points (7g, 7a) in 60 AHL games with the Wolves during his first two professional seasons. Prior to turning professional, Suzuki earned 177 points (57g, 120a) in 173 Ontario Hockey League games with Barrie and Saginaw from 2017-20, serving as one of the Colts' alternate captains for parts of two seasons. The London, Ont., native has also represented Canada internationally, winning a gold medal at the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and a silver medal at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship. Suzuki was selected by Carolina in the first round, 28th overall, of the 2019 NHL Draft.
