RALEIGH, NC - Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned defenseman Maxime Lajoie to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Lajoie, 25, has earned four assists in 10 AHL games with Chicago in 2022-23 and was named the team's captain on Nov. 8. The 6'1", 185-pound defenseman has posted 91 points (15g, 76a) in 204 career AHL games with Belleville and Chicago and added eight points (4g, 4a) in 18 playoff games last season to help the Wolves win the 2022 Calder Cup. He also skated with the Hurricanes in their win over the Blackhawks on Monday and has now played six NHL games with Carolina over the past two seasons. Lajoie has skated in 68 career NHL games with Ottawa and Carolina since debuting with the Senators in 2018-19, registering 15 points (7g, 8a). The Quebec City, Que., native was drafted by Ottawa in the fifth round, 133rd overall, of the 2016 NHL Draft and acquired by Carolina in exchange for Clark Bishop on Jan. 12, 2021.
