RALEIGH, NC. -Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL) on an emergency basis. Forward Ondrej Kase has also been placed on injured reserve.

Kochetkov, 23, posted a 3-0-0 record, 2.42 goals-against average and .902 save percentage in his first three NHL regular-season games with Carolina in 2021-22 and made four playoff appearances with the Hurricanes, earning a 1-2 record. The 6'3", 193-pound netminder has posted a 2-2-1 record, 3.00 goals-against average and .911 save percentage in five AHL games with Chicago this season and has now registered a 15-3-2 record, 2.32 goals-against average and .918 save percentage in 20 career AHL appearances with the Wolves. Kochetkov also went 5-1 in the AHL playoffs last season to help lead the Wolves to the 2022 Calder Cup championship. The Penza, Russia, native was named Best Goaltender at the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship after earning a 4-1 record, 1.45 goals-against average and .953 save percentage to lead his home country to a bronze medal. Kochetkov selected by the Hurricanes in the second round, 36th overall, of the 2019 NHL Draft.
Kase, 27, has missed each of the last 11 games due to a concussion after signing with Carolina as a free agent in the offseason and making his Hurricanes debut in the season opener against Columbus. The 6'0", 191-pound forward posted 27 points (14g, 13a) in 50 NHL games with Toronto last season and has now registered 124 points (57g, 67a) in 258 career NHL games with Anaheim, Boston, Toronto and Carolina. He has also recorded nine points (2g, 7a) in 31 career NHL playoff games. The Kadan, Czechia, native represented his home country at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship, recording two points (1g, 1a) in five games. Kase was selected by Anaheim in the seventh round, 205th overall, of the 2014 NHL Draft.
