RALEIGH, NC. -Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has signed defenseman Dylan Coghlan to a one-year, $850,000 contract extension.

"Dylan is an important part of our blue line depth," said Waddell. "He comes to the rink with a good attitude every day, and we're glad to have him back."

Coghlan, 25, skated in 17 games with Carolina in 2022-23, recording three assists. He has registered 22 points (6g, 16a) in 105 career NHL games with the Hurricanes and Golden Knights since making his debut with Vegas in 2020-21. The 6'3", 207-pound defenseman also earned three points (2g, 1a) in five American Hockey League (AHL) games with Chicago last season, and he has now registered 67 points (28g, 39a) in 131 career AHL contests, all with the Wolves. Prior to turning professional, the Duncan, B.C., native spent four seasons in the Western Hockey League (WHL), tallying 145 points (38g, 107a) in 265 career games with Tri-City from 2014-18. Coghlan was acquired from Vegas along with Max Pacioretty in exchange for future considerations on July 13, 2022.
