McCormick, 27, registered 20 points (9g, 11a) in 45 AHL games split between Belleville and Colorado last season. He also skated in 14 NHL games with the Senators in 2018-19, scoring one goal. The 5'11", 188-pound forward has appeared in 71 career NHL games with Ottawa, posting 10 points (6g, 4a). McCormick has tallied 133 points (63g, 70a), including nine shorthanded goals, in 279 career AHL games with Binghamton, Belleville and Colorado. He played collegiately at Ohio State from 2011-14, recording 88 points (36g, 52a) in 104 games. McCormick has been a teammate of Hurricanes forward Ryan Dzingel at the NCAA, AHL and NHL levels. The De Pere, Wis., native was drafted by the Senators in the sixth round, 171st overall, of the 2011 NHL Draft.
