Hurricanes Announce Training Camp Schedule

RALEIGH, NC - Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced the schedule for the team's 2017 training camp, to be held at PNC Arena in Raleigh. The team will begin on-ice workouts on Friday, Sept. 15, at 8:45 a.m.

Following two practice days in which the team will skate in two groups, the Hurricanes will host the annual Caniac Carnival at PNC Arena on Sunday, Sept. 17. Carolina opens its 2017 exhibition schedule the following day, traveling to Buffalo for the first of back-to-back road games against the Sabres and Lightning on Sept. 18 and Sept. 19. The Hurricanes will then play at home on Sept. 20 against Tampa Bay before beginning a three-game trip in which they will visit Washington (Sept. 23) and Edmonton (Sept. 25) and play the Oilers in a neutral-site game in Saskatoon on Sept. 27. Carolina concludes its preseason slate with a home game at PNC Arena against the Capitals on Sept. 29. A full training camp schedule can be found below. All times are local.

The Hurricanes open their 20th anniversary season on Saturday, Oct. 7, against the Minnesota Wild at PNC Arena (7 p.m.). In honor of the 20th anniversary season, the Hurricanes' practice groups during training camp will be known as Team Dineen and Team Kron, after members of the inaugural team.
