RALEIGH, NC - Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled defenseman Klas Dahlbeck from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Dahlbeck, 25, appeared in six games and earned one assist with the Checkers after joining the Hurricanes' AHL affiliate on Dec. 7. The Katrineholm, Sweden, native has played in nine NHL games with Carolina this season, totaling three points (1g, 2a) and 12 penalty minutes. In 2015-16, he skated in 71 games with the Arizona Coyotes, posting eight points (2g, 6a) and averaging 15:43 of ice time per game. Selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the third round, 79th overall, in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Dahlbeck has scored four goals and earned 11 assists (15 points) in 103 career NHL regular-season games with Chicago, Arizona and Carolina.
