RALEIGH, NC - Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled center Lucas Wallmark from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Wallmark, 22, has registered two assists in eight career NHL games with the Hurricanes. The Umea, Sweden, native made his NHL debut last season on March 13 against the NY Islanders and recorded his first NHL point with an assist on March 14 against the Islanders. Wallmark also earned an assist on April 2 at Pittsburgh. He was drafted by the Hurricanes in the fourth round, 97th overall, in the 2014 NHL Draft.
The 6'0", 176-pound center has recorded 23 points (7g, 16a) in 20 games with the Checkers this season. Wallmark ranks third on the team in assists, tied for third in plus/minus (+12) and fourth in points. He has recorded 69 points (31g, 38a) in 87 career AHL games with Charlotte.
