• Defenseman Joakim Ryan (undisclosed) has not practiced since September 30. Rod Brind'Amour said that he is battling an injury and that there's no need to push him through it this time of year.
• Forward Brendan Lemieux (undisclosed) suffered an injury during the team's exhibition finale on October 5 and will be "out for a little while." The second-year Hurricane returned to practice on Sunday, October 13.
