Goaltender Scott Darling will make his 2018-19 regular-season debut in net for the Carolina Hurricanes when they host the Boston Bruins.
Darling is returning from a lower-body injury suffered on Sept. 30 in the Hurricanes' preseason finale. He made 25 saves on 26 shots in a conditioning start with the Charlotte Checkers (AHL) a week ago.
"It's his time now. He had a really good offseason. It's just too bad he got derailed right before we were about to start. He's healthy now. We'll see what he can do for us," head coach Rod Brind'Amour said after a very limited morning skate. "This is basically his coming out party. Hopefully we give him a good game in front of him."
