PHILADELPHIA, PA. -Frederik Andersen will start today for the Carolina Hurricanes as they take on the Philadelphia Flyers.
The All-Star netminder enters the contest 26-7-2 and is coming off of a 28-save win over Nashville on Friday. It will be his 35th start of the year in the team's 50th game. Skater-wise, defenseman Brendan Smith will not play today after leaving yesterday's game with an upper-body injury after blocking a shot up high. Ian Cole and Ethan Bear will presumably be the third pairing today with him out. Up front, Derek Stepan may draw in after serving as the healthy scratch for the team's three most recent games. Rod Brind'Amour said that there are a couple guys who are dinged up and they may need the services of #18. An official decision will come after warmups.
