RALEIGH, NC. -The Carolina Hurricanes appear to be rolling out the same lineup that earned them a victory on Friday, tonight when they host the Seattle Kraken.
Antti Raanta will start a second consecutive game for the team after the organization recalled goaltender Alex Lyon from the Chicago Wolves Saturday. Rod Brind'Amour said following morning skate that Frederik Andersen just wasn't feeling 100%, so he's considered day-to-day. Lyon is expected to back up Raanta tonight. Raanta made 22 saves on 24 shots in the team's victory over Pittsburgh on Friday, including a perfect 14-for-14 after the first period. In terms of the 18 skaters in front of him, the same forward lines and defensive pairings are expected. The only addition was that Brendan Smith took part in the defensive group, working his way back from injury. #7 has been out of the lineup since suffering an upper-body injury in the team's victory over the Penguins on Sunday, February 20. The projected lineup for tonight's 7 p.m. start is: Forwards: Svechnikov - Aho - Teravainen Martinook - Trocheck - Necas Niederreiter - Staal - Fast Lorentz - Kotkaniemi - Jarvis Defensemen: Slavin - Bear Skjei - Pesce Cole - Chatfield Starting Goalie: Raanta Injuries: Tony DeAngelo Brendan Smith Scratches: Derek Stepan Note: Lineup subject to change prior to opening faceoff Worth A Click: Preview: Canes vs. Kraken Canes, Caps Rivalry Going Outdoors Jarvis Adjusting To Life In The NHL Hurricanes March Schedule
