RALEIGH, NC. -Defenseman Tony DeAngelo could make his return to the Carolina Hurricanes lineup Thursday, as they take on the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Rod Brind'Amour said on Wednesday that the team would evaluate after morning skate, and then today his verbiage was, "if he begs enough, he might get in there." DeAngelo is working his way back from a core injury suffered on February 21 against Philadelphia.
Brendan Smith is also expected to be an option for the team tonight after being medically cleared earlier this week. The left-handed defender has been out of the lineup since February 20 with a fracture in his skill after blocking a shot in Pittsburgh.
Jalen Chatfield, who played in nine games while both were on the shelf, was reassigned to Chicago (AHL) on Monday, opening the door for one of the two.
Among the forward group, the "SAT" line is back together from the hop tonight. The trio was split up for the team's win over the Flyers on Saturday, but then was reunited during the team's game against the Penguins on Sunday.
Seth Jarvis, who was cited as dealing with a minor hip issue a few days ago, remains the odd man out.
In net, Frederik Andersen makes his 40th start of the season tonight. The netminder stopped 28 of 29 in the victory over Philadelphia, his first game back in nine days after missing two games due to injury. It will be his third start of the season against Toronto and he is 1-0-1 in his previous two outings.
