"You guys read too much into morning skate. You're killing me," Rod Brind'Amour said at his media availability, suggesting that what was seen on the ice at PNC Arena may not carry over into game time.
As far as what transpired, here's what we saw.
Up front, the SAT line was reunited, as Andrei Svechnikov skated with Teuvo Teravainen and Sebastian Aho.
Martin Necas slid down to Svechnikov's second line spot, where he worked to the right of Vincent Trocheck and Steven Lorentz.
While the third line of Niederreiter - Staal - Fast remained in tact, the fourth line featured Jordan Martinook, Derek Stepan, Jesperi Kotkaniemi with Seth Jarvis occasionally rotating in. This was the case because Jarvis is considered as questionable for tonight, per Brind'Amour. The 20-year-old took a shot off the foot Wednesday against Florida and the head coach said that he'll be a game-time decision.
On the blue line, Brendan Smith and Ethan Bear flip-flopped once again, with Smith skating on a pair with Ian Cole.
Frederik Andersen was in the starter's crease.
The lineup for tonight's 7:00 puck drop could be:
Forwards:
Teravainen - Aho - Svechnikov
