SEATTLE, WA. -Defenseman Dylan Coghlan appears to be in line to make his Hurricanes regular season debut Monday as the team takes on the Seattle Kraken.

Coghlan, 24, was acquired in July from the Vegas Golden Knights along with Max Pacioretty in exchange for future considerations. The right-handed shot quarterbacked the team's second power play unit throughout most of training camp and preseason play, but then suffered a lower-body injury in the team's exhibition finale in Buffalo.
Carolina's new #15 is likely to draw in for Calvin de Haan, who skated to the left of Jalen Chatfield in the first two contests of the season.
"We've got to at least get him in the mix. It's hard to leave a guy on the shelf for too long and then expect him to do something," Rod Brind'Amour said of Coghlan following morning skate. "I know it's his first game for us, but he can shoot the puck. We know that. Hopefully on the power play he can help us out a little bit there and just play a steady game, that's what we're looking for from him."
Outside of the anticipated Coghlan and de Haan swap, Brind'Amour is expected to remain with the same skaters that earned a 2-1 victory in San Jose on Friday. Forward Stefan Noesen remains in for Ondrej Kase, who returned to Raleigh on Friday to be evaluated for a possible concussion.
After Antti Raanta earned an 18-save win over the Sharks, the group is presumed to go back to Frederik Andersen in net for tonight's affair. Last season's 35-game winner stopped 31 out of 32 in the Canes opening night victory over Columbus last Wednesday.
The Canes projected lineup for tonight's 10 p.m. EST puck drop is:
