RALEIGH, NC. - Former Carolina Hurricanes netminder Antti Raanta will not be playing any more hockey in North America.

The veteran, in an interview with Finnish media outlet Ilta-Sanomat, shared on Saturday that he has returned to his home country and will look to continue his playing career in Europe.

Raanta, 35, played 79 regular season games over the last three seasons with the Canes, finishing with a record of 46-15-9 with a 2.53 goals against average and a .901 save percentage. He also played in 19 postseason contests with the club and won the Jennings Trophy with Frederik Andersen for the 2021-22 season, as the duo allowed just 202 goals over the course of 82 games.

In total, the undrafted free agent played 11 seasons in the NHL with Arizona, Carolina, Chicago, and the New York Rangers.
