ANA@MIN: Spurgeon chases down Terry to stop breakaway

Let this be a lesson to you kids out there: Never give up on a play.

Even if you are three, four, five strides behind, keep those legs moving because you never know what can happen.
Our role model here is Minnesota Wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon.
After a Wild turnover in overtime, Anaheim Ducks forward Troy Terry had what he thought was a clear path to the net. But Spurgeon skated like a madman and dove for the puck, batting it away just before Terry could get his shot off.
"It was such a long breakaway, like from the far blue line, so I was taking my time getting set up there," Wild goalie Filip Gustavsson said. "Then I saw some Superman dive there with the stick and I was like, 'Oh. Spurgey.' It was nice for him to have that speed to come back."
The score was tied 4-4 at the time. The Wild won 5-4 in the shootout.
"You know he's never going to give up on a play," Wild forward Jordan Greenway said. "That was big. It changed the entire outcome maybe."
Always stay with the play, kiddies. Jared Spurgeon says so.
