Fans can also participate in the Detroit Red Wings Foundation's 50/50 Raffle, led by volunteers from the Detroit Branch NAACP, with a portion of the proceeds going to that incredible organization.
Inside the arena bowl, the Red Wings will introduce a special National Anthem singer and Youth Hockey Player of the Game to commemorate Black History Night.
The National Anthem singer is Detroit native and neo-soul artist Angela Davis, who has made a significant mark in the Detroit entertainment community, as she was a 2016 Detroit Music Award nominee, an ambassador for the "Light Up Detroit" song and was a featured singer for the 2018 Aretha Franklin tribute, among other accolades.
The Youth Hockey Player of the Game is 12-year-old Detroit native Javion Harris Jr., who is a defenseman in the Detroit Ice Dreams Hockey Association. Detroit Ice Dreams, which was featured in our first Black History Month Game Changers story, is dedicated to promoting and subsidizing hockey for underrepresented youth in the community.
During breaks in the game, fans can enjoy video vignettes on the Boys & Girls Clubs T-shirt designers, in addition to community profiles with features on Game Changers honoree Jason McCrimmon, Willie O'Ree Community Hero Award winner Rico Phillips, Red Wings forward Givani Smith and others.
