Blueliner Christian Kyrou gave the Stars their first lead of the night, scoring the eventual game-winner with 8:28 left in the final frame.
Jan Bednar, a 2020 fourth-round pick, started in the crease for Detroit and stopped all 18 shots he faced before being replaced by free-agent invitee and Shelby Township, Mich., native Andrew Oke in the middle frame.
The Red Wings will conclude their NHL Prospect Tournament slate Monday at 11 a.m. against the Toronto Maple Leafs, but Detroit is focused on utilizing Sunday's practice to continue to improve.
"It's all about chemistry," said 2022 fourth-round pick Amadeus Lombardi. "We look to build some of that, get a good meal tonight and we'll be ready for Monday."
