During the inaugural season of the Sharks Foundation's 50/50 Raffle, $528,425 was donated to beneficiaries in the Bay Area, impacting thousands of youth and families in need.
Beginning with the preseason, the Foundation sold raffle tickets during each home game at SAP Center with jackpots combining for more than $1 million by the end of Round One of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and averaging more than $20,000 a night.
Throughout the season, 50/50 Raffle beneficiaries fell in line with the Sharks Foundation's Season of Giving campaign, including donating $10,647.59 for Pancreatic Cancer Center Action Network during Hockey Fights Cancer month, $10,340 for Salvation Army Silicon Valley during the Season of Giving, $15,852.50 for Operation: Care and Comfort during Military Appreciation month, $8,715 for LGBTQ Youth Space during Character Development month and $9,340 for the San Francisco Zoo during Environmental Awareness month.

For the last game of the regular season the Sharks celebrated "Fan Appreciation Night" and the 50/50 Raffle offered a special of 80 tickets for those who spent $40. By the end of the evening, the jackpot was a record-setting $66,625 with more than $33,000 going back to the Sharks Foundation to support its mission to enhance the lives of youth and family in the Bay Area.
At the conclusion of the regular season, the Sharks Foundation raised funds for several branches of Habitat for Humanity as its official non-profit of the playoffs. With the help of the 50/50 Raffle, as well as sales from the Foundation's Brews & Beards booth and collectible playoff items, more than $76,000 has been dedicated for a Community Block Blitz Build in East Palo Alto, as well as several homes affected by San Jose flooding that fall outside of city funding.
In addition the Sharks Foundation supported Bay Area disaster relief for California wildfire victims and Oakland Ghostship fire victims' family members through the American Red Cross, as well as San Jose flood victims through the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. Emergency aid donated from 50/50 Raffle funds totaled more than $65,000 for these organizations.
With nearly one million tickets sold to fans and supporters during the 2016-17 season, the Sharks Foundation looks to reach new heights during the 2017-18 campaign. The Foundation would also like to thank each supporter who purchased 50/50 Raffle tickets during the year and helped make the launch so successful.
