During the inaugural season of the Sharks Foundation's 50/50 Raffle, $528,425 was donated to beneficiaries in the Bay Area, impacting thousands of youth and families in need.
Beginning with the preseason, the Foundation sold raffle tickets during each home game at SAP Center with jackpots combining for more than $1 million by the end of Round One of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and averaging more than $20,000 a night.
Throughout the season, 50/50 Raffle beneficiaries fell in line with the Sharks Foundation's Season of Giving campaign, including donating $10,647.59 for Pancreatic Cancer Center Action Network during Hockey Fights Cancer month, $10,340 for Salvation Army Silicon Valley during the Season of Giving, $15,852.50 for Operation: Care and Comfort during Military Appreciation month, $8,715 for LGBTQ Youth Space during Character Development month and $9,340 for the San Francisco Zoo during Environmental Awareness month.
