) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled forward Ryan Carpenter (
@carpydeuces
) and defenseman Dan Kelly from the San Jose Barracuda (
@SJBarracuda
, AHL).
The 25-year-old Carpenter posted 18 goals, 37 assists and a plus-20 rating in 66 games last year for the Barracuda. He finished the season as team-leader in points and won the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award for community service. He made his NHL debut on December 11, 2015 against the Minnesota Wild.
A six-foot-one, 180-pound native of Oviedo, Florida, Carpenter was originally signed as a free agent on March 26, 2014.

Kelly, 27, registered 15 points (4 goals, 11 assists), 93 penalty minutes and a plus-8 rating in 55 games with the Albany Devils last season. He also notched one goal, two assists and a team-high plus-4 rating in eight Calder Cup playoff games.
The defenseman has collected 64 points (14 goals, 50 assists) and a plus-44 rating in 352 career AHL games with Albany. In addition, Kelly posted 82 points (11 goals, 71 assists) in 235 career OHL games with the Kitchener Rangers and played under current Sharks Head Coach Peter DeBoer and Assistant Coach Steve Spott as the Rangers won the OHL Championship in 2008.
The six-foot-one, 185-pound native of Morrisonville, New York, was originally signed as a free agent by New Jersey on May 19, 2010.
