9.20.22 Canes Catch Up

RALEIGH, NC. -One week from today the Carolina Hurricanes will play their first preseason game.
However, before we get there, let's ensure you're caught up on all that has transpired recently.

Prospects Show Growth At Showcase

The up-and-coming talent of the organization picked up two wins in three games this weekend as the organization hosted the Prospect Showcase presented by Invisalign for the first time.
After
falling to Florida to start the tournament
on Friday, the group
evaded a come-from-behind effort by Nashville Sunday
before closing things out
with a drubbing of Tampa Bay.
Third-year pro Jamieson Rees captained the bunch and was one of the standout players of the tournament, posting an unofficial four-point game Monday afternoon. The highlight of the Showcase though was undoubtedly Alexander Pashin's lacrosse-style goal, which he pulled off in the finale against the Lightning.

Record-Breaking 5K

Over 2,000 people made their way to PNC Arena bright and early Sunday morning, making the turnout the biggest in the history of the Canes 5K.
Selling out all available slots for the first time, the event included appearances from many Canes players, as well as 100- and 200-yard dash races for kids on top of the 5K itself.
Thanks to the support of the fans, the Canes Foundation will be able to donate $50,000 to the community.
