Canes Have Fun With New Win Celebration

You've seen the postgame stick salute. Almost every team in the NHL trots out a variant of it after a home win.
But you definitely haven't seen any on-ice victory celebration like the Carolina Hurricanes debuted on Sunday.

With DJ Khaled's "All I Do Is Win" blaring over the PNC Arena sound system, the Canes lined up on the right blue line. Led by captain Justin Williams, they raised their sticks and clapped over their heads in unison.
But wait, there's more.
The team then took off in a mad dash down the ice and leapt into the boards.

It was unique. It was exciting. It was fun.

"We want to have fun when we win," head coach Rod Brind'Amour said. "The game should be fun. That's why we're doing it. I want the players to enjoy winning and the fans to enjoy being here."
"It was planned," Jordan Martinook said after the game. "I don't know if we're going to do that one for the whole year. We'll keep the fans on their toes and keep them guessing on what we're going to do next."
Whether we see this celebration - dubbed the

or the
"eye wall"
by some fans online - again or something new, Hurricanes home wins this season are going to be fun.
And, in the end, that's what it's all about.
UPDATE: The Hurricanes fine-tuned this celebration after a 5-3 victory over Vancouver on Tuesday. The presentation was more coordinated. Micheal Ferland led the clapping, and the crowd joined in. Yep, still very fun.
