Chatfield, 25, skated in 18 NHL games with Vancouver in 2020-21, posting one assist. The 6'1", 188-pound defenseman has recorded seven points (4g, 3a) in 17 AHL games with Chicago this season and leads all Wolves blueliners in goals. Chatfield has now registered 24 points (6g, 18a) in 159 career AHL games with Utica and Chicago from 2017-21. Prior to turning professional, he spent three seasons with the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League (AHL) from 2014-17, posting 86 points (19g, 67a). Chatfield served as an alternate captain in his final season with the Spitfires and helped the team capture the 2017 Memorial Cup as Canadian Hockey League (CHL) champions. The Ypsilanti, Mich., native signed with Carolina as a free agent on July 30.
Lajoie, 24, played 62 NHL games with Ottawa from 2018-19, tallying 15 points (7g, 8a). The 6'1", 196-pound defenseman also skated in two playoff games with Carolina last season, making his NHL postseason debut in Game 3 of the Central Division First Round at Nashville on May 21. Lajoie has earned eight points (1g, 7a) in 17 AHL games with Chicago in 2021-22 and leads all Wolves defensemen in assists and points. He has now recorded 62 points (12g, 50a) in 151 career AHL games with Belleville and Chicago from 2017-21. Prior to turning professional, Lajoie spent parts of four seasons with the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League (WHL) from 2014-17, registering 119 points (22g, 97a) and serving as an alternate captain during his final two seasons with the team. The Quebec City, Que., native was selected by Ottawa in the fifth round, 133rd overall, of the 2016 NHL Draft and acquired from the Senators in exchange for Clark Bishop on Jan. 12.
