RALEIGH, NC. -The National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes will host their fifth annual Hockey Talks game on Tuesday, March 14, when the team hosts the Winnipeg Jets at 7 p.m. The Hurricanes are hosting Hockey Talks to encourage conversations about mental health and reduce stigmas associated with mental illness. To help raise awareness and promote the importance of mental health, players will have the opportunity to wrap their sticks with green tape during warmups to show their support.

The Hurricanes will partner with the North Carolina affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI NC), HopeLine, Foundation of Hope, Lucy Daniels Center and 22 Saves Hockey for Hockey Talks. These organizations provide information, resources and support to individuals and families affected by mental illness, including crisis lines available via call or text.
In conjunction with Hockey Talks, the Hurricanes will also partner with the North Carolina Department of Justice, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and Raleigh Police Department for the fifth consecutive year on Prescription Drug Take Back. Fans are encouraged to responsibly dispose of prescription drugs that are expired or no longer needed at all PNC Arena entrances before Tuesday's game, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be additional drop-offs available on March 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the PNC Arena Ticket Office.
If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the following local support lines: HopeLine (919-231-4525, available via call 24/7 or via text from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday) and NAMI (800-451-9682 via call or 919-999-6527 via text, both available from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday).
