MONTREAL - The Carolina Hurricanes will look to bounce back from an underwhelming performance when they visit the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night.
The Hurricanes saw a three-game winning streak snapped in Brooklyn in a 4-1 loss to the New York Islanders on Saturday.

Bouncing Back
The message was clear following the Hurricanes' 4-1 loss on Saturday: Flush it and move on, because there wasn't much to savor in that momentum-stalling defeat.
"It wasn't there today. We weren't ready to show up," Lucas Wallmark said. "We win together, and we lose together. … We have to be better than that."
"We just didn't come ready to go from the get-go. We knew what they were going to do. We talked about it and had a game plan, but from the first shift on, we didn't do it at all," head coach Rod Brind'Amour said after the game. "It's a tough one because we wanted to keep moving forward, but, man, I've never seen us play that bad. That was really poor, to a man. Each guy - we didn't come ready to go, and we got what we deserved."
The effort really hasn't been a question all season. A bounce-back game in Montreal could help transform Saturday night's loss to a simple blip on the radar.
"That was not our best effort the other night, and everyone knows that," Brind'Amour said after practice on Monday. "It's easy to get that point across. That's not good enough to win in this league."
Bean to Make Debut
Defenseman Jake Bean will dress in his first NHL game on Tuesday night in Montreal. With Haydn Fleury sidelined with a concussion, the call came to Bean, who has 11 points (3g, 8a) in 21 games with the Charlotte Checkers in his first professional season.

Bean: "I should feel pretty comfortable out there"

"I hope he brings some consistency and just a good, solid effort. I'm not looking for anything special. He's a puck-moving defenseman. I want him to play his game. He makes plays," Brind'Amour said. "We're not going to give him too, too much to worry about."
PROJECTED LINEUP
Bean, who played in World Juniors with Team Canada in Montreal, paired with Trevor van Riemsdyk in practice on Monday.
"Just enjoy it. You only have it one," Bean said. "I'll do my best to have fun out there."
The Opposition
The Canadiens are 11-8-5 (24 points) on the season, but they're winless in their last four games (0-2-2). Montreal captain Shea Weber will return to the lineup tonight. The veteran defenseman has missed nearly a year while recovering from foot and knee injuries.
ADVANCE AUTO PARTS KEYS TO THE GAME

1. Reclaim Identity
There's not much that needs to be said about Saturday's game in Brooklyn. The Hurricanes didn't have a great effort, and they didn't play their game. Tonight in Montreal, the team needs to reclaim its identity.
2. On Your Marks
Be ready right from the drop of the puck. On Saturday, the Canes fell behind on the Islanders' first two shots of the game. That's not a recipe for success, especially on the road.
3. Power Up
The power play has scored a goal in seven of the last nine games. If special teams can make a difference for the Hurricanes again tonight, they'll leave Montreal with two points.
