BROOKLYN - Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Haydn Fleury has been diagnosed with a concussion, according to head coach Rod Brind'Amour.
Fleury was hit by Troy Brouwer along the near wall in the neutral zone late in the third period on Friday. He left the game and did not return.

Fleury is now in the concussion protocol and did not travel with the team to Brooklyn. He'll remain sidelined until he's medically cleared.
"That's one of those where you don't know how long it's going to be, and you don't mess around with that stuff," Brind'Amour said. "We'll play it safe."
Defenseman Trevor Carrick was recalled from Charlotte and will play on Saturday night against the New York Islanders.
