RALEIGH, NC - The Carolina Hurricanes today announced that American-born defensemen Justin Faulk and Noah Hanifin, with support from Fonville Morisey, will introduce an enhanced True Defenders program for the 2017-18 season, providing a full game-night experience for active and retired military members.

"Noah and I are really excited to continue True Defenders," Faulk said. "We are thrilled we were able to enhance the program, and it will be an honor to host some of the men and women who protect our country at games this season."
For six premium games during the 2017-18 season, the True Defenders program will host 20 military members and their guests in a True Defenders branded lower-level suite at PNC Arena. Along with suite tickets, participants receive VIP parking, complimentary buffet and beverages inside the suite, and a meet-and-greet with Faulk and Hanifin after each game. In addition, True Defenders will receive a snapback hat and long-sleeved shirt, both outfitted with a new True Defenders logo personally designed by Hurricanes co-captain Justin Faulk. Each True Defender's guest will also receive the long-sleeved shirt.
"At Fonville Morisey, we are proud to partner with the Carolina Hurricanes to support the True Defender program," Fonville Morisey Senior Vice President and Regional Manager Rod Eller said. "We feel privileged to have this opportunity to honor the men and women of the military and their service to our country."
The first True Defenders game will be Friday, Oct. 27, against the St. Louis Blues, followed by Saturday, Nov. 11, against Chicago, in honor of Veterans Day. Other games include Military Appreciation Day on Sunday, Feb. 18 and Homegrown Nights. For more information on the True Defenders program, visit
