RALEIGH, NC - Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today issued the following statement regarding the passing of Bob Brind'Amour, Rod's father:
"There isn't a person who met Bob who will ever forget him," said Waddell. "Bob was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who lit up every room he entered with passion, humor and energy. He kept working as a pipe fitter in Campbell River well into Rod's NHL career and it's clear he passed that relentless work ethic down to his children."
Bob Brind'Amour passed away on Thursday in Campbell River, BC, surrounded by friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Linda, siblings Giles, Paul, Alice, Andre' and Francine, sons Stephen, Rod and Mich, and grandchildren Skyler, Briley, Reece, Brooks, John, Marc, Claire, Leila, Brayden and Nicklaus.
