If Rattie clears waivers on Sunday at noon, the Hurricanes can assign him to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League.
Rattie has posted 10 points (4g, 6a) in 35 career NHL games. Carolina claimed the 24-year-old winger on waivers from St. Louis on Jan. 4, and a night later he dressed for the Canes against his former team. Over the last six-and-a-half weeks with the Hurricanes, Rattie has played in five games and recorded two assists and has been a healthy scratch in 12 contests.
