RALEIGH, NC. - After 17 seasons in the National Hockey League, former Carolina Hurricane Andrew Ladd announced the end of his playing career on Sunday.

Originally drafted by the franchise in 2004 with the number four overall selection, the winger went on to play 137 games with the Canes between 2005-08.

Winning the Stanley Cup in Raleigh in 2006, Ladd went on to become a two-time winner of the sport's ultimate prize in 2010 when he hoisted the trophy with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Ladd concluded his career with the Arizona Coyotes, playing in his 1,000th NHL game during the 2021-22 season.
